Little Rock Equestrian Center Barn Rules

  1. NO SMOKING within 50 ft of the barn or arena.
    Cigarette butts must be disposed of in marked receptacles.  Do NOT throw on the ground, in trash cans, or in the parking area.
      
  2. ALL riders are required to wear helmets when mounted.
    Riders must have a safety approved helmet on and fastened before mounting any horse.
     
  3. Children 12 and under must be supervised at all times.
    Small children (age 5 and under) are not allowed around the horses unless under direct supervision of an LREC employee. 
     
  4. No yelling or running.
    Yelling, running, horseplay, and loud toys/games are not allowed beyond the parking area gates.
     
  5. Do not feed the horses or goats.
    Horses and goats may be fed designated treats only with permission by an LREC employee.
     
  6. No dogs or pets allowed on the premises.
    Pets may be left in a vehicle if weather permits.  No pets are allowed on the property for insurance purposes.
     
  7. No open-toed shoes allowed around the horses.
    Riders must wear appropriate footwear: Boots with 1/2-1” heel, smooth or light tread only: NO hiking boots.  Anyone else around the horses must wear substantial closed toe shoes: i.e. tennis shoes, boots, etc.  Wearing dress shoes or other less substantial shoes is not recommended.
     
  8. Park only in designated areas.
    No parking in the pasture or driving through the barn gate, unless directed by an LREC employee.  No parking along the driveway or on the street.
     
  9. Keep all gates and stall doors closed and latched.
    Gates, stall doors, feed room doors, and office/tack room doors are to remain closed at all times.
     
  10. Pick up after yourself and your horse.
    Throw away trash in trash cans, riders must clean up their horse's manure in public use areas, and all tack and equipment must be put up after use.
     
  11. Horses must be thoroughly groomed before and after each ride.
    Riders should arrive 15-20 minutes before a lesson to make sure their horse is groomed properly and tacked up.  After the ride the horse should be groomed before being put up, rinse or sponge down sweat marks if weather permits.
     
  12. Use only designated tack and grooming equipment.
    Only use equipment or tack that is marked or specified for your horse and/or lesson.  Do not borrow or use other horse's equipment or private equipment without permission from an LREC employee or the owner.
     
  13. Riders are not to mount up without an Instructor present.
    Do not mount your horse without an instructor present, unless told to do so by your instructor.
     
  14. Do not remove horses or goats from stalls or paddock without permission.
    Check with an LREC employee or instructor before removing any horse or goats  from stalls or holding paddock.
     
  15. Do not pull on the collar or horns of LREC goats.  Do not chase the goats.
    Goats are to be treated with kindness.  If you see one or more goats in an area they are not supposed to be in, please inform an LREC employee.
